Preemptive Service is scheduled weekly from 8:00 a.m. Saturday until 8:00 AM Monday. Additional Preemptive Service periods may be scheduled during university holiday closings. Preemptive Service refers to those times when the Computer Operations Center does not support local print or tape media mounts for batch processing and does not staff the Computer Center Help Desk.
Preemptive Service is:
TSO: FULL SERVICE
WYLBUR: FULL SERVICE
BATCH: NO TAPE MOUNTS
RJE: All remotes will be started
Production CICS: Files will be available as scheduled
Print Output: No LOCAL output will be printed
Fetch Queue: Jobs routed to FETCH will be purged by the system after 72 hours.
Network: The university network will be available. Check with your departmental LAN Administrator for individual server availability.
Messages regarding scheduled shutdowns for maintenance and holiday schedules will be available in &PUBLIC.NEWS or you may reference the information in the System Improvement Time (Scheduled resource unavailability) section of the Computer Operation pages. A message will be recorded at 1-815-753-0148 to indicate the current system status.
